Can cremains be separated?

My uncle suddenly passed away. My aunt (his spouse) is not Catholic, but we were able to have a Funeral Mass. His cremated remains are with my aunt in an urn that she wants placed in a mausoleum. She is considering interning him in a Catholic cemetery with a Committal performed by a Catholic priest of deacon. However, she wants to keep some of the ashes.

If we can’t convince her, can his cremated remains still be interned even if she is keeping some?

If your aunt refuses to listen to your family I fail to see why the cemetery would refuse to interned the remains. It is clearly no fault of your family that the situation has come to this.
