Ive heard about a few instances, but can they really be true? I find this horrifying and I really really hope that its all just non sense made up by internet trolls. however I have acquaintance who is a strong catholic and even takes part in deliverances who says he has heard of an incident. honestly I don’t want to believe it. if its true then it makes reality far more terrifying than any horror movie ive seen so far.
so what are some of you peoples opinions on this? I really dont know what to think. I mean even from a logistical standpoint how is it even possible? I mean if theyre spirits how can they create a physical body to rape someone with… so I don’t understand.
thoughts?

I’ve heard of incubus and succubus in the past. i’ve always thought those were myths. I’m not a demonologist, so I’m not knowledgeable about just what demons can or cannot do.

I am neither an expert, but Id assume yes. They CAN manifest physically, that much is proven, so why not?

Not denying that demons can manifest physically, but it was my understanding that certain normal nighttime physiological reactions (such as nocturnal emissions in men) were “blamed” on demon spirits in pre-scientific times when anatomy and physiology were not well understood.

I agree with this, but I would not deny the possibility that demons could play with someone’s mind and make him/her feel as if he were being sexually assaulted.

That seems more likely to me. Although I, too, am not a trained demonologist. And frankly, don’t want to be. Not sure I’d ever sleep again.

Is it bad that i find demonology fascinating? From a purely catholic point of view,i love to research secret societies, the occult, demons, excorcism, ect…is that bad?

Well normally it would be simply the mental assault, i.e. when they give people impure dreams while asleep, or when they are tempting someone to commit fornication or assault and that person cooperates.

I wouldn’t say that it’s bad, but it’s definitely not my bag. The only think I want to know about demons is that they have to bow their knee at the Name of Jesus.

Just my opinion. Others’ mileage may vary.

There are theologians and philosophers who say that spirits could end the world right now if they were allowed to do so because they are that much more powerful than we are. So if they can do the greater then they should be able to do the lessor. It is all according to what God allows them to do. Like when Jesus allowed the demons to enter the pigs when they asked his permission.

This is one of the reasons for wearing blessed medals and scapulars…protection.

OP, perhaps your friend is remembering that horrifying scene in the movie ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ and got confused?

no, sadly it was not the scene from that movie. the incident he described was real. and it was not pretty. I googled it and stumbled across a blog which people told stories of it happening to them. i dont know why God allow that to happen. seems way harsh in my opinion even for the worst sinners. and one site on demonology seemed to confirm that both males and females can be sexually assaulted.

unfortunately the incidents ive heard/read about involved actual penetration 😦 as I said I really dont want to believe it. i don’t know how any one can deal with that emotional trauma.

i have wondered about this myself. I find it hard to imagine that God would allow this type of attack to happen and if He really does, I find it very disturbing that he would give a demon permission to do this to a person.

not bad but foolish. im not a demonologist nor do i have an interest in demons but as i said an acquaintance of mine is one and sometimes when we chat and the topic is religion i ask him a few questions out of curiosity. well some of the things he says are so depressing they just make you want to drink yourself into a stupor. i honestly don’t know how he can work in that line of duty, but i guess he i called to it. trust me its far more pleasant to study animals, or history, or science, or philosophy. i mean go to church, pray, and be righteous so youll be protected from demons but theres no point in studying them and it will only cause you unnecessary distress.

From “Interview with an Exorcist” by Fr. Jose Fortea.
  1. What is a demon?
A demon is a spiritual being of an angelic nature that has been condemned for all eternity due to his rebellion against God. As pure spirits, demons are not made of matter. Because they do not have bodies, demons are not inclined to any “sins of the flesh” (ie. it is impossible for them to commit the sins of lust or gluttony). The sins of demons are exclusively spiritual. But they can tempt human beings to sin in matters of the flesh.
Just for the heck of it, a bit on free will and grace.
  1. Why did God put the demons to the test?
… Offering a being the possibility of faith also supposes the risk that in this same being evil may flourish instead of faith. God, by giving free will to the angels and human beings, knew that freedom, once bestowed, could be used for good or evil. Of course, God could have created the cosmos in any way He liked, without any restrictions or limits. But a saint is not created; one becomes a saint through the action of grace. The gift of freedom allows for a Hitler as well as a Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa). Once the gift of freedom has been given, consequences - good or evil - flow from every act of the will. In the material cosmos there is no spiritual good; the good of the cosmos is purely physical. Spiritual (or moral) good is qualitatively superior but necessarily requires a free choice. Thus, the appearance of moral evil in no way upset God’s plan. The possibility of evil was already part of the divine plan before the creation of thinking beings.

I see what your saying. but usually it does not distress me, it gives me motivation to be righteous and saintly. Especially as I came to the faith, much of my fire for God derived from demons which I formerly had fire for,but now against.

You also must consider the source saying it is nothing to worry about…this is same scientific community that tries to tell us that God does not even exist, so Im not sure I would believe everything they say about such things.
