Can EMHC serve if in mortal sin?

Can an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist distribute the body and blood while in a state of mortal sin?

I know that no one in a state of mortal sin should receive, but can they carry out their responsibilities?
 
Yes, if an EMHC is in a state of mortal sin they could still distribute communion.

Obviously if this is a habitual problem then the individual should probably step down from the role since it would be an awkward sign/visual for the EMHC to not receive communion every time they serve in that capacity.
