Can God create anything that is perfect

I heard a priest say that humans should have a perfect understanding of what is right and wrong, and I thought to myself “they can’t have a perfect understanding because only God is perfect.” And I called him out for that, and he roasted me bad. Basically saying I was a fool for thinking otherwise. So is the statement “humans should have a perfect understanding of right and wrong” false? And why?

I don’t think any human can have a perfect understanding of anything this side of the veil. We’ll have to wait for heaven for that, if even then.

He is correct.
In the order of existence clearly God is the most perfect being as His nature is “to exist” while all others participate in existence according to the grades of “nature” we are familiar with (angels, humans, animals, plants minerals, prime matter).

However, given that we do not expect more of a given nature than the potentials its nature allows then of course there can be perfections other than that we predicate of God as above.
Given the fall, and given that even before the fall experience is often needed to grow in knowledge it is clear that may take a lifetime.

“Calling out” an authority figure seems a misguided attitude to me.
The Chistian approach is surely to quietly discern with humble and polite private discussion for mutual gain.

We are created in the image and nature of God, and after creation God saw that it was good.

It depends on how you define perfection.

Say you build a car and it runs without a problem. It is perfect. Some might say it doesn’t fly. But you didnt build it to fly. So it is a perfect car.

God made man in perfect justice. He knew right from wrong. But man fell from grace and no longer knows right from wrong. But we should, because that is how God designed us.

Many of the canonized Saints have achieved this perfection in this life. Therefore it is not beyond our reach.
