It is not depression, it is just a sad realization that my life does not have meaning. No self-pity, just cynical in relation to the lack of purpose of my existence. I cant move on, and instead been burning bridges due to hopeless outlook. Will God give me ever a chance in this miserable life of mine?

Lilally, what is your age? At different times of life we all go through transitional periods and some of us are affected by this type of hopelessness and melancholy more than others. It does pass eventually. It’s alright to seek out a certain degree of reclusivity, but don’t burn any more bridges please. Time will pass and you’ll regret that.

God bless.

Sounds like depression to me.

Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and ask Mary for help. Jesus cannot resist the pleas of His mother. I’ve been there, I am there. This is the only hope you have. But it is worth it. It is all. God bless you.

Saint Jude works great with these matters, I hear.

Look up any prayer online or click the link in my signature.

Just remember, endure to the end, life is a trial, may we all reach God.

I can attest to these prayers working in my darkest moments of despair:

–The Apostles’ Creed - renewing your Baptismal promises and rejecting Satan has an amazing effect.

–The St. Michael Prayer - again, telling Satan in no uncertain terms to get lost and get off your back.

Now let me explain lest you misunderstand - I’m not saying you are sinful or evil for having any of the dark despairing thoughts. What their cause is, varies with each person, and is a common part of the human condition. I’m saying the devil likes to kick us when we’re down :blackeye: and try to get us in a downward spiral where we do things such as burn bridges or whatever it is that we do when we despair.

We must fight back in this spiritual warfare that’s inflicted upon us. :knight1: :knight2: Enlist allies if you feel the need, too. You have us on CAF, do you have a priest you can talk to? Maybe a counselor? A good friend? Please don’t give up. Even a series of apparent defeats might be followed by a great victory. And we can still be thankful - maybe it takes some effort at first, but trying to find just a few things that we are thankful for can make a difference.

:blessyou: :hug3:

Positive outlook is a choice. Get involved in helping a crisis pregnancy center or soup kitchen. It is not our right to despair, thereby wishing away the miracle of our existence. As long as you have breath, you have value in the eyes of God, as well as those around you.
Get out today, and do a kindness for one stranger, then another. And another. You will be stunned by the realization of how much value your life has, and you will soon become loathe to fret and fritter away any more time. God bless. Remember, the souls who love God and serve other people win in the end! Rob 🙂

All life has meaning. You may not be able to see it now, but God has great plans for you. Sometimes it’s not our job to worry about what God’s plans are. No matter how sad and hopeless you feel, remember that Our Lord not only suffered way more, but He persevered. Live your life. Love your life!

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with thee;
Blessed art thou among women
And Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now
And at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Certainly your life has meaning! From the Baltimore Catechism:

Question: Why did God make you?
Answer: God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him forever in the next.

Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (ESV)

You are a child of God. Your life is deeply meaningful.

This may be a shot in the dark, but I find the website creationsafaris.com very uplifting. Read the Dec. 31st posting, and you will KNOW that there is reason for YOUR existence here at this moment. Nothing about creation is accidental. 😉 Rob
