Will God hear and answer my prayers when i’m in a state of mortal sin? What about the saints, Mary, etc.?

Hearing and answering prayers in a state of Mortal Sin.
God- Saints- Mary

God can hear all prayers at all times and knows all things.

God can answer anything he wishes if it is his will.

The Saints, Mary- All they are doing is intercession so they are not answering the prayer in any event.

Get out of Mortal Sin as soon as possible.

Please.

I’m trying to get my parents to schedule a general confession for me right now. Thankyou for the answer.

Prayers going up for you, BB! Remember you can go to confession at any church at any time there is a priest available in the confessional. www.masstimes.org has listings for your area.

God bless you, BB!
yes, God listens to you. It is also very important for all of us to listen to Him.

God always hears your prayers, and He knows of your plans for confession.

Don’t stop praying brooklynboy!

I used to think it was worthless for me to pray if i was in such a state of sin. I was so mad at myself because i thought i had beaten my vices but then fell back into grave sin. I remembered some bible verse about the effectiveness of prayers of the righteous. Feeling far from righteous, I stopped altogether. Got myself into such a rut and kept falling prey to old sinful habits. Fell right into the evil one’s trap.

Make an act of contrition, Pray Pray Pray, and go to confession!

I do not know what all you have been taught by some most recent teachers but I was always taught that once you fall into mortal sin your direct line of communication between you and God is CUT OFF. God will not listen to you when you are in a state of mortal sin since you have outright rejected Him by that sin.

That is why the priest is there for you in the confessional- “to fix the phone line” so to say (heard that from Mother Angelica one night).

So definitely get to confession as soon as possible.

The Saints and the Blessed Virgin will always take your prayers before the Triune God, however, God will always know your heart and God may not answer even those prayers because of your state of mortal sin.

I would take this safe way instead of the liberal other ways by believing Mortal sin does not separate you from God. Mortal sin DESTROYS your relationship with God…so much that you MUST go to the priest to obtain forgiveness for your sins- through his offering of the Holy Mass every day.

No wonder they have confession every single day at my parish- before every Mass.
