Mental reservation is allowed to be used to someone “who doesn’t have a right to the truth”. Well I’m assuming according to God’s eyes, none of us sinful humans have a right to the truth.

Is there a possibility that he could lead us into believing something that isn’t actually true without lying?

For example, he could say “If you follow my commandments, you will be saved” but omitting a part of that statement and keeping it to himself, such as “If you follow my commandments, you will be saved. Unless your name is Ben

Could God do something like that?

A better question would be, “If God is all-knowing and human beings are not, is it possible for humans to ask all the wrong meaningless questions that will never lead to meaningful answers? If so, is it possible for them to ask each one in a separate thread?”

Yes.

Yes, and God will do this at some point…

2 Thessalonians 2:11
Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,

but this isnt really a trick, God will do this to separate the true believers from the ‘goats’.
