Why is it that you have to go through so much to become catholic and receive communion and such? Or do I have this wrong. It just seems to me that in order to get close to God through your sacriment of communion you have to jump through a LOT of hoops to get there. And even then can be denied access for one reason or another. Maybe I am missing something but I can’t find anywhere in the bible where people had to go through a class to become a christian and deserve communion.
It’s not ‘do you have faith in Christ and have you been baptized?’ and if you say yes you partake in communion, it’s ‘are you catholic?’.
Denying someone Christ, as you believe that your communion is, just because they haven’t been through the class and confirmed in your church seems really wrong. But again, maybe I am missing something…
