Hi,

One of my good friends has asked me to be one of the bridesmaids at her Salvation Army wedding; am I able to do so?

From the research that I’ve done, it seems that it’s okay for me to attend a Protestant wedding if the bride- and groom-to-be have been baptised in their faith, as long as I don’t take part in their Communion or anything. However, since the Salvation Army doesn’t believe in Baptism or Communion - and so neither of them have been baptised - does this mean I shouldn’t attend their wedding?

My boyfriend, who is also a strong Catholic, has already told me he doesn’t wish to attend the wedding with me, so I’m strongly considering making my apologies to my friend anyway, but I was just wondering what the Church’s stance on this situation is.
