As a Catholic, I am not sure how to answer my daughter-in-law, who is non-denominational, when she asked if I would be a sponsor for her baptism in this non-denominational church. Would it be okay for me to sponsor her, as at least she is getting baptized somewhere, or is it totally out of the question as it is not a Catholic baptism? They do believe in the Trinity and will baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you in advance for your response.

grandmakim,

The following link should assist you in better understanding the Catholic Church’s teaching on taking part in a non-Catholic baptism. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
