I’ve been praying to more than 1 saint and to Our Lady of Fatima asking for the same favors. Can I do that? Because in the prayers (of the saints) it says “I promise I’ll never forget this special favor and to have you as my patron saint”.

Besides, if what I asked comes true, how will I know which one made it happen? 😊

You can be devoted to a number of saints, as many are patrons of a particular cause or disease. I think there are more than 5,000 canonized saints, plus there are all of of thousands of those who died in Christ who were never canonized.

You wouldn’t ask six good people to help you, promising each that he or she will be your best friend if you get what you want from them. It’s not good to make deals when we pray.

Thank you for your answer.

And I checked and it just says I promise I’ll always be graetful.

I know you have already been answered, but I just wanted to add that Saint Rita of Cascia, whose feast day it is today, had three patron saints: Sts. Augustine, John the Baptist and Nicholas of Tolentino.

Saint Rita of Cascia,

Of course you can be devoted to more than one Saint.

Asking for a special favor however is NOT being devoted to a Saint. Devotion occurs whether you want something from them or not. It generally means you are trying your best to emulate their life and practices.

And yes, you can also pray to more than one Saint, asking them to pray for you.

I you have prayed to more than one saint and your prayer is answered, then they have all interceded for you.
In the link I gave yesterday of Saint Rita of Cascia, she asked three of her favourite saints to intercede for her. All three of them came to her aid, literally 🙂

To have more than one patron saint also means that more Saints get recognition, that in it’sself is a plus positive

St Thomas Aquinas
St Joseph
St Joseph of Cupertino
St Benedict
St Josemaria Escriva
St Therese of Leuisex
St Philip Neri
St Augustine
St Michael the Archangel
Blessed John Paul II
Servant of God Fulton Sheen

These are my buddies 😃

Are all saints patrons of something? St. Eugenius for example, I don’t know which cause he is the patron saint of.

Yes you can. But I recommend that you only pray to one saint in specefic if it’s for the same cause. You can pray to multiple saints but keep the same intention to just one. It avoids disruptions spiritually if you know what I mean. God bless you.🙂

Thank you for your answer. So, if I want to pray for multiple causes, I ask each different saint just for one? I’ve been asking to St Rita and St Jude and Virgin Mary the same causes and in the same prayer I ask for more than one… But anyway, the causes are linked and they are 5, the saints I’ve been praying to are just 3. So, what do you recommend? :hmmm:

I certainly have asked the intercession of other Saints for various things in my life, and do take time to learn more about them.

But my primary one will still be St Therese of Lisieux…
