Fulfilling the obligation to attend Mass on Christmas seems to be very difficult for me because no buses from my home will be available on 24nd or 25th. I could walk to the nearest railway station to take a train but it would take about one hour to walk from home to the station so it’d be difficult.
There’ll be Mass at 12pm on 25th so I’d have to leave home at about 10am and I’d be back at about 02pm. I’d first have to walk about one hour to the station and then take a train. I’m young and healthy so yes, that would be possible but still quite difficult. If my father is at home on 25th he could be probably take me to the station by car but if that’s not possible, would I still be required to go to Mass?
I’m not asking this because I’d like to miss Mass (no!) but because like I said, it’d be very difficult to attend one on Christmas. This is causing me a lot of stress and I’m worried if it’d be a mortal sin to miss the Christmas Mass. Should I ask the parish priest for a dispensation?
