Can I be orthodox Catholic and support Sane Sex Marriage

Hi,

I seem to have noticed that practically no one listens to anyone else unless they are telling sex jokes. See, if there were a zombie apocalypse and people were turning into living dead, like a lot of people today seem to have a fetish about zombies and vampires and other undead creatures, especially youth, I think the only way to reverse it would be to have machine guns that fire entire magazines of Rabelaisian sex jokes at the zombies brains, and then they will come back to life and start acting moral again. We need like a Don Quixote or a De Cameron or something like that.

It seems to have been insane sex, that has got us into this moral collapse. Forget safe sex, try sane sex! I don’t know why the Catholic Church is so against Sane-Sex Marriage. What else is there? Are we supposed to act all mentally and emotionally balanced in public and once we get under the covers because psychotic killers or something? What’s the big problem with Sane-Sex Marriage? I don’t get it at all?

Can anyone help me out, because I really want to accept all of the Church’s teachings, but I am having a real hard time understanding the Church’s magisterium on this issue?

I was confused too and thought they meant ‘same’ but the OP messaged me and it is meant ironically. The internet can be difficult with stuff like that - but that’s what emoticons are for I guess!

Can you boil this down? zombie brains, machine guns? You’ve kind of lost me. Same sex “marrieage” i.e., homosex is against natural law, it’s deviant from normal. What are you trying to postulate?

Sorry but your post is incoherent and gibberish.
What are you asking or what is your point?
 
I get that it’s a play on words and after a few readings I understood the zombie analogy (mostly, at least), but I’m not sure what the underlying message is. Is it something like that the Church’s teaching on sexuality has come to focus a lot on the emotional, interpersonal, intuitive, unitive dimension of sexuality and you think we should focus more exclusively on the more rational, practical, procreative purpose of sexuality?

And not only may you search for this (same) answer in the AAA forum, there are stickies links in the social justice forum. I believe the links are there to the Church’s position. The position is not a suggestion or a recommendation. The teaching on marriage is fundamental and integral to the teaching on personhood, sexuality, gender, family, marriage – as part of core Catholic doctrine on Life.

You can also search the USCCB website for documents from the bishops (marriage, same-sex unions, etc.), or use the CAF search feature to look for threads which have similarly included these links.

If so, I don’t mean to criticize, but I think it was stretched attempt at humor, because at least 3 of us were unconvinced of the attempt. 😉
 
Ok, whatever, lol. Apparently no one ever uses humor in their marriage. We are all ultra rational these days. All of us SERIOUS apologists! Even St. Augustine told a fart joke in City of God. If you are going to critique anything, you might as well tell a joke about it, just to demonstrate the silliness of it. I’m a light hearted person when it comes to apologetics. If I did not use humor when I explain and defend the Catholic teachings, I wouldn’t have been able to bring people closer to God. It has never been my hyper rational logical arguments that have sparked understanding in other people, but whenever someone I have talked to has made a breaktrhough in understanding why the Catholic church teaches what it does, it has always been through a joke or ironical statement. Us Catholics should use this principle more often. I recommend listening to or watching videos by or reading the writings of James Martin. No one seems to take humor seriously enough these days.
 
I thought it was funny. I kept waiting to hear Gilda Radner as Emily Littella say, “Oh. Never mind” at the end!

In my opinion, Gilda Radner was the best comedian ever on SNL. “Emily Littella” cracked me up every single time!
