My wife died suddenly in February. She died in the middle of the night while I was lying in bed right next to her. We had been married for 32 years, and I miss her terribly. Would it be wrong for me to want to go to her? We are husband and wife. Life without her is terribly lonely. I want to be with her. Is this wrong? If so, why? I have a right to be with my wife.

I am very sorry for your terrible loss and pray that God will grant you comfort and healing. It sounds like you might be suffering from depression. I urge you to speak to your doctor and your priest immediately and share with them exactly what you’ve said here. It is possible that you may need medical attention and pastoral care. God bless.
