hello everyone, i am not catholic and have never been baptized i was previously married for 31/2 years to a non-catholic also we were divorced (he committed adultery) we did have a son together who is now 3… i am looking to become a catholic i have been very interested in this religion for along time now but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to and if i am does my son have to become catholic also any advise you could give me would be very helpfull… thanks 🙂

Hi,

Your divorce, of itself, would not prevent you from becoming a Catholic. The Catholic Church does recognize marriages between non-Catholics as valid. So it would still consider you to be married, unless, after an investigation, the Church could declare that the marriage is null.
