Can I dip the Host in the Precious Blood so I don't have to drink from the cup?

I have somewhat shied away from taking the Blood of our Lord during communion mainly because of the number of people drinking from the same cup. I heard someone say that it would be OK to take the Eucharist and actually dip it into the cup in order to receive both the Body and Blood. I have not actually seen this done but is this an acceptable practice?
