We all need to take care of business and homework is no exception.
I made a vow to myself that on Sunday I wouldn’t do certain things, like washing clothes, for instance. The problem was that, having said that, all I could think about for the rest of the day, was that pile of clothes that wasn’t getting washed. When I realized I was focusing all my time and energy on my clothes instead of God, I decided to wash the clothes right then and there so that I could keep the rest of the day open for whatever God was going to reveal to me.
While our God is a loving God, He is also a jealous God and asks for nothing more than your time on Sunday. If the thought of not being able to do your homework is consuming you, then by all means work on it (even on Sunday). It is not about doing the right or wrong thing but about really understanding what Sunday is all about. It is more than going to mass or not doing your homework–it is about giving praise and honor and glory to God our heavenly Father who loves you so much He gave up His only son, Jesus Christ. Can’t we give Him back as much?
