For my homework I need to construct a presentation. I have all of next week in which I could do this but can I do it on a Sunday? I have been able to get to Mass and pray today but I have a spiritual book which I haven’t picked up in a long time. So should I read that or do my homework?

So, let me ask you a question.

Have you started getting spiritual direction for your scrupulosity from your priest as has been suggested numerous times already on this board?

If not, why not?

In addition to face-to-face spiritual direction, this site will provide you will information about what the Church does and doesn’t teach an in approachable, non-threatening manner.

You do not have to be held hostage by scrupulosity, Antonio.

Antonio sounds like not picling up spiritual book is brothering you. I would then read book then start working on presentation. What ever works! Praying for you

We all need to take care of business and homework is no exception.

I made a vow to myself that on Sunday I wouldn’t do certain things, like washing clothes, for instance. The problem was that, having said that, all I could think about for the rest of the day, was that pile of clothes that wasn’t getting washed. When I realized I was focusing all my time and energy on my clothes instead of God, I decided to wash the clothes right then and there so that I could keep the rest of the day open for whatever God was going to reveal to me.

While our God is a loving God, He is also a jealous God and asks for nothing more than your time on Sunday. If the thought of not being able to do your homework is consuming you, then by all means work on it (even on Sunday). It is not about doing the right or wrong thing but about really understanding what Sunday is all about. It is more than going to mass or not doing your homework–it is about giving praise and honor and glory to God our heavenly Father who loves you so much He gave up His only son, Jesus Christ. Can’t we give Him back as much?

Fine thank you. I only asked this question after searching for it on here and finding that someone who asked the same question got a mixed bunch of replies. I do sound scrupulous but there are some things in my life which are most certainly grave offenses, and I know that if I do sin I am more prone to committing these grave offenses.
Anyway thank you kindly for your replies.
