Can I drink coffee less than an hour before Communion?

I work nights and on some Sunday mornings I couldn’t make it safely to and from Mass without drinking some coffee. I’m positive I read somewhere that in addition to water, plain tea and black coffee were allowed as part of the hour fast before Communion, although I currently can’t find where I read that. Considering the circumstances, is drinking plain black coffee allowable before receiving Communion?
