Can I get a vasectomy for my wife's health?

My wife’s doctor has instructed us to not get pregnant with any future children as the weight of child-bearing may cause severe and irreversible damage to her knees. Does the Catholic Church allow a man to have a vasectomy for the purpose of protecting his spouse’s physical well-being?
