Can I get an amen?!? please?

So in a nutshell I’m a wannabe Catholic! Whoop! I want to be Catholic SOOO bad and cannot WAIT to start going to RCIA so I can get this ball on the road. . . wait, that doesn’t sound right. Anyway, I’m a Protestant (but not in my heart anymore!) and on my way home and into the Catholic faith. I could just really use some support. Maybe say a prayer for me, tell me how awesome it is that God has lead me here, b/c I have told a select few and gotten some pretty horrible resonses. Not that I was surprised, but I would love it so much if just ONE person would say to me, “Welcome home!” Or you could be more creative. 😉 I’m not at all ashamed of asking for some support from my future Catholic family! I’m just feelin’ a little bummed that not everyone get’s why I’m so joyful about God reavealing some astounding truths to me. . . ho hum. . .
 
God bless you for your enthusiasm, you will definitely be a welcome addition to the Catholic Church and to whatever parish you join. You have lots of learning and experiences ahead of you, some may surprise you. I commend you for taking that “leap of faith” and embracing the one true Church. However you came to that decision, it took courage and intelligence. May God richly reward your efforts and guide you in His ways.

I hope you find your time in RCIA fulfilling both spiritually and also in building a community for you to grow in your faith. You’re in for some wonderful times, and the journey is long, but oh so worth it!
 
You’re a very blessed person. It’s not everyone who gets such an unmistakeable call from God. He must have something important in mind for you. Don’t let this opportunity slip away. Good luck and God bless.

Oh i’m in tears! Thank you thank you everyone! I’m feelin’ the love and prayers! God just continues to blow me away with the way he is bringing my husband and me into the fold! As I tell friends and family I keep trying to explain to them that I’m not “converting” as if I was turning from one thing to another, but that I have such a fuller and richer understanding of my faith under the umbrella of the CC. HOW can anyone be upset that Catholicism has caused me to love God and Jesus more?!? Also, there’s the added bonus of Mary and the Saints! My five year old is always saying, “Mommy, WHEN can we be Catholic???” In a very real way, that is just more confirmation in my spirit that this path has been laid out for us by our Father in heaven! These are good things!

(I think if I try I can squeeze in a few more exclamation marks!)

we get the joy when we witness you newbies coming home, and your spirit is infectious and puts us to shame, that is why we need you so much

Don’t be discouraged by people who are not happy for you. Pray for them and be patient. This is going to be an amazing year for you and your family.
 
I used up my last “amen”, and tho I’m out of those, I will give you a big congratulatory hug!

I Know what your feeling. I’m a cradelvert and am still not over how wonderful Jesus is.

RCIA        is such  a great  Discovery   program,     and is the  same   teaching of Basics as  in the  Catacombs   1800  years ago,  to  Converts  then.                         One beautiful  detail is  you    and your RCIA  class will  be Received  fully into  the Church  at  what has been the  Most Important Mass of the last  1800  years:   The  Easter Vigil,   as Our Lord  arises  from the Dead!

You will love Easter vigil. Even though I am the only Catholic in my family, they all came to Easter vigil when I was received into the Church.

I am a convert (2007) from the Methodist chuch and I am still so happy I became Catholic. Its such a relief that every time you study the bible and the early Church you can confidently say, “I am apart of the same communion they were!”

:amen: The same Church, Sacraments and Teachings Christ began, as He began them, by Apostolic Powers. The Mass and Eucharist are the Same as Our Lord told His Apostles to do In His Remembrance, and have been The Focus of Devotion Since Then. Jesus Christ, The Saviour does them Through the Priest.
