I bumped into a picture of Mary on the interent, it is a photo of a statue somewhere in the world and it is very beautiful. I would like to priny it out at the supermaket and maybe fix it to a piece of card to stop it bending and keep it in my bag for when I sleep at work I can take it out.

Am I allowed to get this picture blessed?

(Does anyone know where in the world this statue is)?

Thanks.

It appears to be from a church called Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu in the Philippines. I’m trying to post a link to the Flickr group for them, but it’s not working right. Try copying the below into your address bar and take out the spaces before every slash.

I don’t see why you can’t get a holy picture blessed if you plan to use it for devotion.

My wife and I regularly take our religious pictures, statues, Bibles and other religious
books and items to mass to be blessed by the priest after mass. Go ahead and have it blessed.

I looked to see what there is on the web about this and saw that this same question
came up on these Catholic forums in 2008. You should find what is said there encouraging about this. A link to this is at Blessing of rosaries, statues, etc
I like the image of Mary you found, by the way.

Some workplaces have facilities for people to sleep, especially if they are working night shifts.
My last workplace didn’t have facilities but for various reasons I spent a lot of nights sleeping in my office. There were showers in the downstairs fitness center I could use in the morning.
