Can I have a Catholic wedding in an Episcopalian church?

Ever since I was a little girl I have been enchanted by this beautiful church near my hometown. I always dreamed of having a wedding there but had never attended. Later on, I found out why. It was an Episcopalian church. My family and I are very strong in our faith and I am getting married soon to a man that is also Catholic and strong in his faith. I would love to have a wedding at that church, but I do not want to compromise my beliefs or his. Would it be possible to invite our Catholic priest to hold a Catholic wedding inside an Episcopal church? We really want a Catholic wedding by a Catholic priest. Would I offend him by asking? What should I do?

I sympathize with your desire to get married in a beautiful church, but please understand that the establishment of Catholic marriages should not be made beholden to childhood fantasies. There is no reason that two Catholics should be marrying in an Episcopalian church. However much you might like the ambiance of this church, it is not a Catholic church and therefore should not be used for the celebration of the sacrament of matrimony between two Catholics. I can only recommend that you find a suitable Catholic church for your wedding.
