There seems to be the saying that Christians must love a person even though they do not have to like the person. I understand that one must love the person even if one does not like or condone the *actions *of the person, i.e. the mandate to love the sinner but hate the sins. But can one love a person without necessarily liking him/her, the person?

What is the distinction, if any, to be made between ‘loving’ and ‘liking’ of a person?
