Can I miss Mass because of a chronic condition?

I am trying to find out if it is ok to miss mass because of pain from an arthritis flare up. I know Christ suffered far more than me, but since I am not contagious but still sick with a chronic condition I was wondering if it was ok to miss occasionally because of it!? I feel guilty just considering it.
