This morning we had an Ash Wednesday prayer service at my public school. (There wasn’t priest; we just had the youth minister of a local parish bring in blessed ashes with his pastor’s permission). Is it possible for me to receive ashes again at a Mass tonight, or are you only allowed to receive ashes once on Ash Wednesday?

The blessed ashes are a sacramental. So far as I know, there is no legislation by the Church that forbids receiving a sacramental (e.g., blessed ashes, holy water) more than once in one day. As a matter of prudence, it may be a good idea to have just cause for receiving the blessed ashes twice – such as your reason of attending an Ash Wednesday Mass later in the day after receiving ashes – so that the reception of the ashes does not become superstitious.
