According to the CCC, it is through the Church that we receive faith and new life in Christ by Baptism. My question is, if this is so then does that mean there is no way for me to receive the gift of faith BEFORE baptism?

you can start reading spiritual material, praying & speaking to priests before baptism

that will increase your faith

good luck

No, of course not. Think of the thief on the cross…he wasn’t baptized with water but he had faith in Jesus and was saved that day. People are told the Good News, have faith in God, and ask to be baptized. It doesn’t mean that you have no faith before being baptized. You, as an adult, are asking to be baptized because you have faith. Baptism will wash away your sin, add you to the Body of the Church, and confer special graces on you. As you look forward to your baptism, you can be increasing your faith and knowledge and trust in God through study and prayer and attending Mass.

This is more of a mystery vs a set in stone rule.

You receive the Faith though the Church because Faith is a gift from God, which He reviled to humanity and is continually taught by the Church.

Without the Church existing, the fullness of the Christian Faith would not be taught to each generation.

Faith is also trust. So yes, you can posses the faith, knowing that the faith is true, before being baptized. And it’s also possible for the Holy Spirit to come upon you before your baptism if you receive the baptism of desire from the Holy Spirit (but it’s hard to objectively know who has this)

I pray this helps.
