Recently, I have begun to attend daily Mass. My relationship with Christ and the Church has changed drastically, even to the point of where I am now currently discerning the religious life. There is nowhere I feel closer to God than being able to see Him come down on an altar for me to receive him. I began my daily Mass routine by attending in the evening, after my day was done. Now, I have begun going at 6:30 a.m. as well, making it the first thing in my day. I think going to the celebration of the Eucharist is the perfect way to begin and end your day. This is my question: Is it okay if I go to Mass and receive Communion twice a day? I have read where saints and rulers of kingdoms have gone as many as nine times a day. I have been told, though, that one should only receive the Eucharist once a day. If Christ is coming down to us for us to receive Him, and I am incredibly grateful for that, shouldn’t I receive Him as many times as I am able to? Going twice a day now has deepened my faith in more ways than I could have imagined and it saddens me to think I may have to go back to going only once a day. However, if that is what the Church says I must do, then I will do it. I have searched high and low on the internet to find an answer from a Catholic authority or from Vatican documents. Can I receive the Eucharist and participate in Mass twice a day (possibly even more)?
