My church only offers confession on saturdays, but id like to go to mass during the week sometimes, and being human sometimes I sin and am need of confession. I thought I read somewhere that you could still receive the eucharist as long as you fully intended to go to confession at the next available opportuinity/

Mortal or venial? The Confiteor absolves you of venial sin, and you are under no compulsion to confess venial sins - although it is a good practice. Dunno what’s what? Ask Father! If you frequently sin mortally, you could greatly benefit from spiritual direction, IMO.

If you are in a state of mortal sin the answer is NO YOU MAY NOT RECEIVE COMMUNION before being absolved in Confession.

Phone the parish you go to mass in during the week and ask the priest if it is possible for confession before mass.

My parish and others in the area have regular confession times 30-60 minutes before mass every day of the week.

Maybe you remember Latin canon law (CIC), but this is extraordinary, that is, only for when there is a grave reason. Also an act of perfect contrition should be made anyway, even if there is not a grave reason.
Can. 916 A person who is conscious of grave sin is not to celebrate Mass or receive the body of the Lord without previous sacramental confession unless there is a grave reason and there is no opportunity to confess; in this case the person is to remember the obligation to make an act of perfect contrition which includes the resolution of confessing as soon as possible.

If you committed a mortal sin, you need to go to Confession before you receive. You cannot receive and then go to confession afterwards, as then you would have committed the additional sin of an unworthy communion on top of the mortal sin.

If you only committed venial sins, then you can go to communion and just go to confession within the next couple of weeks.
