I know I was in a dark place a year ago with my DS and his bullying experience. Home schooling has totally brought back his confidence, a smile and some great news.

He has been an altar boy since last fall and has been doing a fantastic job. Well, he was picked to serve as this year’s confirmation! What a great honor. And he now is going to start serving at Czestochowa Shrine.

Tomorrow we are going to Divine Mercy Sunday Mass where Cardinal Burke is the celebrant. My son is so cute…can I receive communion by him? We will definitely sit up close!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the prayers!

“The glory of God is man fully alive.” It sounds like your son is becoming more fully alive every day. Good for you! Good for him! and most importantly, glory be to God!

DEFINITELY get in his communion line!

Thank you for sharing your happy news! Your heart must feel quite full with joy! ❤️

Thank you everyone for your kind words and especially prayers. He is at altar boy practice now for the Confirmation next weekend. He now finds it amusing when a couple of his former classmates scowl at him when he serves. He has come to realize it is their problem and not his.

And yes, we will definitely get it +Burke’s line for communion. I wish we could get a picture of him with DS, who is still discerning the priesthood. He said the most beautiful thing to me. He is the cross bearer because he is tall and the cross is heavy. But about a month ago, when I asked him if he thought it was heavy, he said, “No mom, because I feel someone is holding it with me.”

Wow. DH and I have been blessed. I needed to listen more to God and talk less!

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday

Well, Divine Mercy Mass at Czestochowa Shrine with +Burke was amazing! Believe it or not, we had terrible storms last night and the Shrine had no power. All the light was natural. And then, while singing the Our Father, the lights came on and their glorious organ played the recessional. The whole congregation smiled as the lights came on. It was like a miracle.

We received by Cardinal Burke and kissed his ring at the end of Mass. We told him we would pray for him by name and thanked him for his blessings.

One cute thing. The altar boy holding the mitre was entranced by it. I told my son:

Rules 1, 2 and 3…you do not play with the Cardinal’s mitre.

I did find out my son will be holding the bishop’s crozier at Confirmation next week. However, I do not expect he will be staring at the crozier like the other other altar boy did today. They were quite young. It was endearing.

How beautiful!

Well, so much for my DH wanting me at the mass.

I guess it was nice.

Sadly, my son has been unraveling before my eyes since last Sunday.
