Can I still be Catholic if I don’t necessarily believe in everything the church teaches?

This is a dangerous ideology, to judge our own morality based on what we perceive from other people, but I want to specifically highlight this question “You’re not really aspiring to sainthood anyway, right?” That’s exactly what we’re supposed to do as Catholics: aspire to sainthood. We are all called to be saints, and we are all called to be the best of ourselves.

I like the term practicing catholic. In the sense that we are practicing and imperfect.

You can have doubts about what the Church teaches and still be Catholic.

If you outright disagree with the Church (which is different to the above) e.g “sin doesn’t exist!” then that is a different matter.

Yes, I thought about that after I had posted. You’re right. I spoke rashly.
