Hello,
I am currently in RCIA in my parish. I am unbaptized and have never been part of another church.
I have been told that, as part of my class, I will be expected to show up this week to offer confession for my sins. My understanding is that my lack of baptism absolutely forbids me from receiving this sacrament, and I am concerned that my parish may be playing fast-and-loose with the sacraments. Is it nevertheless still licit for me to “go through the motions” of confession for educational purposes, though it will confer no sacramental grace upon me?
Regards,
