WHEW.

I can go tonight in an hour! Thanks all for giving me that advice. I can go to another church and have it done soon, but I need to go get ready. Thanks for putting up with my neurotic-ness. šŸ˜›

Could you go online and find another church that offers the sacrament at a different time which you could attend? Good luck – Confession is such a blessing.

I’m so frustrated right now. I want to go to confession this Saturday when my parish offers it. I just joined the other day and am taking confirmation classes, but I am baptized Catholic and I should go to confession. (The only time I went was 10 years ago, and that was my first time.) If I’m not mistaken, I need to have my mortal sins absolved before taking communion and I really, really, really want to do that. I’m sure you guys understand why. 😦

I’m really anxious to go, but I can’t go this weekend because family has something else planned which is, to them, more important: a trip to an amusement park they’ve had planned for awhile. I really hate living with my Catholic-in-name-only family. No one understands why I need to go and what’s worse, they don’t care when I try to explain.

I have to attend a pro-life forum for my confirmation class this Sunday and there’s going to be Mass and dinner afterwards, but I won’t be able to take communion at it.

I am so sad. And scared too–I could die any minute and end up you-know-where.

What would you do in my situation? (Since it’s really my first one I’m already nervous and anxious to go, but I can’t, at least not for another week.) This seems hopeless.

Thanks for letting me vent all my feelings here, guys. If you have any advice, that’d be appreciated too. 😦
Accept your cross with humility and submission. You are in your family and it sometimes places on you onerous ā€œrequirements.ā€ You are still to honor your parents.

When at the Mass, make a Spiritual Communion.

And then ask a priest to schedule a Confession that you’ll be able to make.

Call your priest and make an appointment. They drop everything to hear confession.

If you cannot get to confession through no reasonable fault of your own, you willl not go ā€œyou-know-whereā€. God does not hold us responsible for things beyond our control. Just get to confession as soon as you can – maybe at the pro-life event?

Explain to the priest what’s up with you. He’ll probably collapse in joy to meet such a sensitive and conscientious young person!

I think this the best approach anyway when it has been a long time since your last confession. The priest needs time to guide you through it. I always recommend it to my students [adult confirmation and Candidates [previously baptized]in RCIA].
