Can Infertile People Wed?

I thought infertile people, who understand that they are irrovocably sterile while they are single, are not permitted to marry because they cannot fulfill the necessary procreative aspect of coitus. My mom says that they can get some kind of dispensation or something.
But if that were true, wouldn’t that make homosexual unions permissable? Since the only thing that makes gay marriage immoral is the barreness of the union…
