There are many stories about people on the brink of death coming to full recovery. If someone who is extremely sick or injured and expected to die receives the last rites and then recovers, does he get last rites again when it’s time for him to die?

The last rites consist of confession, anointing of the sick, and a final reception of the Eucharist that is called viaticum (Latin, “traveling provisions”). All of these are repeatable sacraments, so, yes, a person who recovers after receiving last rites could receive them again when in danger of death.
