Can laughing at jokes/ funny scenarios that involve bad language be a sin?

I believe I’ve heard that it matters on the intent (to make a funny comment versus offending someone)

Either way I’m not a big fan of that type of humor, I ask because Today I was looking for funny material online and when I read something with 1 bad word I laughed, and for some reason re read it again. I worry that I might have sinned, and im not sure that it was consented or human reaction.
 
I ask my priest years ago was using bad language a sin. He told me bad language is not a sin but bad manners. I hope this was helpful.
