I’m confused about what Vatican II says about Mass in Latin. I know that certain parishes offer Latin masses the old-fashioned way (priest with their back to the congregation, more pageantry, etc.), but is it possible to have Mass in the new, post-Vatican II way? If so, why is this not popular? Has the Church discouraged saying Mass in Latin the new way after Vaticsn II and says that the vernacular is “better”? I feel like people would enjoy Mass in Latin, the traditional language of the Church, and at the same time be more interactive like they are in the new vernacular way.
