Can men dress immodestly?

As a contrasting example, when I lived in Saudi, it was a totally different situation, and I was quite thankful for an abaya when I was out in public
There’s some evidence that what men are used to and how they think of women’s clothing affects them.

I was reading about an american man who worked in Saudi Arabia for several years. He said after a bit, even seeing some stray hair or a woman’s wrist peeking out would set him off. When he returned to the u.s. it was like an assault on his sense for a while, but he adjusted.

Oh for sure.

It was even weird as a female to go west on vacation. You could see what people actually looked like. It was weird, for different reasons - but still weird.

The fundamentalists over there honestly believe we’re “fallen” women, if you get my drift, based solely on how we didn’t dress. Add the blonde/light hair and sometimes going out was a bit creepy, even with my husband (not that I went out often alone).

Lol of tradies and then there are those tiny little footy shorts…

I agree! Sweatpants and gym shorts can be immodest on a man. Other than that, though, I don’t think men generally dress immodestly. I guess that’s why it’s not discussed as much as women’s modesty.

Other than a few exceptions, too tight pants and shirts are not the norm for men. Some guys wear short-ish shorts, but nothing close to what women regularly wear. I’ve never seen a man wear a sleeveless shirt (tube top) or even spaghetti straps. Low cut tops are irrelevant. If we look at swim attire, men usually wear shorts. No problems there. I don’t see being shirtless an issue at all. (Again, less to cover up than ladies. And also ladies are less visual so it’s really not a big deal.)

And I’m not saying men are better or anything. It’s just a cultural problem. I was complaining on another thread recently about shopping for cute/fashionable modest clothes for women. Not always easy.

I would put up some pics but am sure it would offend the umm, well you know, those who can’t think of that cavernous hairy proud male tradie stamp.

Nooooo the butt crack! 🙀

Then there’s the budgie smugglers…

Sola butt crack shorts or pants are just so wrong.

It’s waist pants for men. No pants or shorts on the hip. That leads to the sola butt crack indecency.

Personally, as a male, I find when a woman wears a skirt, it is more attractive than if she wears pants
And this is exactly why we should not wear skirts. We cannot risk you guys being attracted to little old us in skirts. It’s scandalous for you men.
