Can men dress immodestly?

Growing up in the 70s in Canada all boys wore speedos and a lot of men did. Some men wore little shorts that were just a bit more baggy than speedos. I remember in the 90s when they started to wear swim short I though it was odd. I think it is all what one is used to seeing. To be honest, I really don’t see much of a difference between a man wearing a speedo or a woman with a bikini top which is basically just a waterproof bra

Tongue in cheek or not, appreciate seeing the comments. I’m pretty fashion ignorant, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.😳

personally, I am a woman and I find the picture posted by dallas of the man in a grey shirt a turn off

I would submit there are degrees of both, and it can depend on the physique of the wearer in question in BOTH cases.

No!!! (and why would you ask that? Now, you’ve made me angry.)

I don’t find it a turnoff, but it is definitely ill fitting.

What do you guys think about men’s accessories? I enjoy wearing a nice watch and adding detail to an outfit. Simple things like tie clips highlight a wardrobe.

This one is a little better . . .(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I don’t want to see a man in any of the stuff you mentioned. Any more than I’m sure they actually want to see me in burlap sacks and shapeless muumuus.

I want well tailored suits, clothes that cover what they’re meant to, attractively dressed men. Not so I can lust after them but so I’m not looking at a bunch of sloppily dressed, poorly turned out sloths in ill fitting clothes with zero regard or respect for personal appearance.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with either sex wanting to appear their best.

Looks to me like the poor chap was mauled by a flying carpet on LSD. So very sad.

I like class and conservatism. So yes, I notice stuff like that, but it’s not every woman’s cup of tea.

(senses thread going from modesty to What Women Want…) 🙂

Of course

You could argue that women are less visual than men when it comes to some temptations, but why would you come even close to being an ocassion of sin?

Also, to think that just because women are less visual in that regard it means a man can wear basically anything without it being immodest is, pardon, rather naive

Now i don’t know much about how the ladies work on that respect, but some basics like not too tight clothes are rather obvious

I also read what a lady said above about well tailored business suits, it surprised me, but after thinking it for a few seconds, it makes sense

Personally, i also see it rather unmanly if a guy goes around in short and tight pants and shirts
