DiL, that is a good advice. But not the last word in the marriage matters. Allah also does not like that a husband divorce his wife. Divorce is the worst of all permissible things in Islam. At some other place in bibleNT, Jesus had left out some room (exception) for divorce.

Your claims that there were no laws for one man one woman is not correct, it clearly states in the bible that God intended for one man and one woman are to become one flesh. That means only one man and one woman is only to be to be in a marriage, not 2, 3 or 4 other wives!

DiL you are deriving a serious rule on these matter. God did not say in bible that one man one wife. If so, please show it. The words you are using do not explicitly say what you want.

Jesus taught us on many occasions that women are to be treated equally, a good example of this is the way he treated his mother and the way he treated Mary Magdalene. The way ‘some’ men treated women in those days obviously did not follow Jesus’ teachings, or we all knowwomen would have been treated with more respect.

Please show where Jesus taught to treat women equally. Jesus did not give any inheritance to ladies from he rfathe ror brothers !!! or husbands !!! Inyour system, the women are told not to speak in the church. Is that good?? I do not want to bring out the bad points of your system.But you seem to see all bad things in Islam.

At the end of the day, there is still a lot of men married to more than one woman, esp in sharia countries.
Secondly, with the ease of divorce in islam, and the fact that you can get married again as many times as you like causes many problems.

1. If a husband and divorced, woman gets married again, child gets new step father. Muslims commonly givwife have a child, get e the western world a hard time for these things, saying how many broken families there are etc, when islam laws allow these things to happen! The only difference is you get married. In Christianity, its very hard to get a divorce which encourages a man and women to work at their marriage, hence the family unit remains intact, which is what God wants, not the ease of divorce like islam allows.

That is nobodies business. WE know that Muslism are misusing some facilities. That is not fault of Islam.

1. Spread of STD’s, by having multiple wives, divorcing them, and then they get married again, your sleeping around with multiple partners which in turn, helps spread the STD’s of today like aids, hiv etc. If God wanted us, at all to have multiple wives and easy divorce, why would he allow these diseases to spread so rapidly?
2. If i thought for one moment my husband was wanting to marry another woman, there is no way i would be able to contain my jealousy. This is why God, again commanded one man one woman law!

Perhaps STD’s are spreading more speedily due to free sex in many countires.

Face it, the man is still better off in islam, as women are treated very unfairly…

It is all the same in your religion too. In Islam, the man is the incharge, spiritually and morally, is responsible. Otherwise man is advised (ordered) to treat his family in the best way.

i wasn’t talking about islamic faith or beliefs . my point was just to refer to classical arabic and meaning of “hor ain” in it’s arabic roots , and many other interpretations which seems to me acceptable about the meaning of “hour ain”

plantenI understand that you were replying to someone else but is there anyway for you to support your religion without referencing another? I’m asking this question as if Islam is the only religion in the world and there are only Muslims and Atheists, if you get what I’m saying.

I do find this fascinating though–the difference in the interpretation of the virgins in heaven. I was under the impression that the overwhelming majority of Muslims were united on interpretation of the Qu’ran. Are the virgins symbolic? Literal? What is the reward for women in heaven if literal? And if symbolic is there a symbolic example for women to relate to?

That is, Allah will recreate the elderly women and make them virgins; the same will be done for old men, Allah will make them youth.

What is the reward for women in heaven if literal?

In the Hereafter Allah will say to the Believers, (Enter the Garden, you and your wives, you will be made glad. There will be brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that the souls desire and eyes find sweet and you will stay there forever. This is the garden, which you are made to inherit because of what you used to do. Therein for you is fruit in plenty whence to eat. ) (Az-Zukhruf 43: 70-73)

The life of women in Jannah will be as pleasant and happy as the life of men. Allah is not partial to any gender. He created both of them and He will take care of both of them according to their needs and desires.

Please remember that the pleasures of Jannah are not material. They are spiritual pleasures for the soul. Nobody knows those good things that Allah has kept hidden from the eyes of the believers See verse 32:17. translation:

“No Soul knows what rewards Allah has kept hidden for the coolness of the eyes. It is a reward for what (good deeds) they had been doing…” 32:17

There is a Hadith which says that the gifts of paradise (Jannah) are such that no eye has seen them. no heart has felt them and no mind has imagined them, no one has ever thought about them.

In the light of the above Hadith, the rewards of paradise could not be the material things of this world.

Please remember that there are some friends of Allah (saints and prophets) who are given those beautiful gifts and fruits of the next life in this life too while they are in a special state. When they return to normal state, they do not remember those gifts (visions) in this world. But they will remember those incidents in the next life when some similar thing is presented to them (saints) and they will say, “Oh, these are the same as we used to get in the previous life.” Verse 2:25.
