I would like St Peter as my patron Saint. I have always felt a connection to him and I love him so much! Does your relation/ connection with your patron saint increase once you are confirmed?
Thanks!

Yes, your patron saint can be male or female. I almost took the name Maria (Goretti) as mine, and a few people I did took that name.

Really??? Oh I am so happy!!! I just read a minute ago a post claiming that we needed to choose a saint of our gender and I was so sad. I LOVE Peter so much. And I’ve had a few interesting experiences with him.

I’m a woman and St. Peter is my patron saint 🙂 I always felt a connection to him: such a weak and confused man who ended up doing great things with God’s grace.

A lot of people say a lot of stuff, but you’re the one who has to live with your patron saint.

Not that you can choose wrongly, of course. All the saints are our friends and patrons, and they love to help us.

Yep. I know two religious who used opposite gender names; Father Mary Catherine (for the Blessed Virgin and Catherine of Seine) and Sister Frances Joseph (for Frances of Assisi and Jesus’ earthly father, Joseph)

My confirmation name is Mary Magdalen Jude, so I picked one of both. 😃 It was quite a mouthful for the Bishop confirming me, though.

Hey, some nuns take male saint names 😛 Yes, that would be great. Peter is a great name to take. Glad you looked into your choices 😉
