I am wondering, can my sin cause bad things to happen to others indirectly? For example, if I commit a mortal sin, can I cause my friend to have a bad day, without having contact with them? I have OCD, so I have been thinking about this a lot. I often worry that my sin (that doesn’t directly harm somebody else) is causing bad things to happen to somebody.

Dear soul, try to think what good you can do to obtain blessing for others.
One of the most blessed saints of the 20th century, Saint Therese of Lisieux, who is also a Doctor of the Church, wrote to her sister Leonie, the one of her sisters who had the most difficulties in life:

"Let us not refuse Him even the smallest sacrifice; everything is so important in religion, that even picking up a pin, if it is done through love, can convert a soul. What a great mystery! It is Jesus alone who can give such value to our actions; let us love Him with all our hearts.”

The humblest and most self-doubting of us can identify with Leonie. I could share more about her life with you if you’d feel it could help.

Try to offer God any and every act of love, and of kindness to others, however small, in prayer for others’ souls. his sister listened well to her sainty sister, and is herself on the path to canonization.

IN your charity for others, without anxiety, but with caring, make a loving prayer to God for your friends, family, for others in general, that He will give them special blessings. And ask our Mother to pray for them.
In this way you are responding out of love, not anxiety and fear. God bless you dear one.

Saint Therese said that she knew that many of her blessings came through unknown little souls’ prayers

I would think so depending on the nature of the sin. Your best course of action would be to try to avoid committing sins or near occasions of sins. At the same time don’t overthink the effect of your sins, but go to confession often. Your confessor will be your guide.
Every action will cause a reaction. It is like tossing a pebble or a big rock into a pond. Which one will cause the biggest ripples and disturb the water? Stick with the pebbles.
