Can my son use his Confirmation name?

Good evening,

My son wishes to be called by his confirmation name Maximilian. What is our Churches stance on this?

Hi,

Your son is encouraged to pray to his Confirmation patron. When he is an adult he may choose to go by his Confirmation name and even have his name legally changed. But children don’t choose the names they go by. Their parents do.
