Can non-Catholics go to Heaven?

The Catholic Church teaches that you do not necessarily have to be Catholic to go to heaven correct? Not referring to saintly people but persons that have gone or could go to heaven. Does this assumption not automatically minimize the importance of the Holy Eucharistic (“our source & summit”)?
