Can non Catholics go to Heaven?

I am a cradle Catholic who tries to follow Church teaching. I have many friends and relatives who are good Christians but not Catholics. In my younger days during Catholic High school I believe we were taught that only Catholics can go to heaven. In later days, I believe I have heard Priests state that only Baptism is required to go to heaven and that any Christian denomination that Baptizes in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit qualifies.
