The reason why I ask is because the canon seems quite pastoral. The norm, with most laws, is a wide interpretation. It would seem the law itself gives quite a wide range of circumstances for allowing non-Catholics the funeral rites of the Church without further need to even dispense from it.I have found it before, it is at the begining of the canon. It was also in my canon law class one of the first things the canon law layer taught us. Dispinsation can be given to any part of the canon for pastoral reasons.
