I am aware that a valid confession requires the confession of all known mortal sins, and that if one forgets to confess a mortal sin it is okay but he should go back to confession again to confess it. As far as I’m aware, in order to receive Communion, a person has to have no knowledge of any unconfessed sins. So does this mean that if a person goes to confession, but then remembers a mortal sin he forgot to confess, that he still can’t receive Communion until going back to confession again?
