I have a question. I was married in an Eastern Catholic Church, husband is Eastern Catholic, but I remained Eastern Orthodox. Godparents were also both Orthodox who married us.

When we have a child, will we be able to baptize the child in the Eastern Orthodox Church? My husband’s cousin is also married to an Eastern Orthodox and they also got married in a Catholic Church, and they baptized their kids in an Eastern Orthodox Church actually.

Still want to know if that is possible though. I know people who never got married in a church and still baptized their children in the Orthodox Church. Since the two are so similar I was wondering if anyone Eastern Orthodox/Eastern Catholic can help me with this? Thanks!

Why don’t you ask your Orthodox priest? Do you still attend at the Orthodox church?

Vatican II post-conciliar documents say you may.

I still do go yes, but I haven’t gotten around to asking him these things. I don’t go to church every Sunday either( I know I know, I should). My priest lives an hour away from me.

I was hoping I can find out from fellow Eastern Orthodox here and take it from there. I know eventually I will have to meet with him and ask him this. Plus we are already on the subject on how different and how similar are Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox are.
