Hello,
I am a protestant. I have gone through extensive Biblical training both in a seminary capacity and also got my BS in a Christian counseling capacity. I have met a wonderful Catholic man. We would like to be married in the church and it is important to him that the marriage be blessed by the church. Is it possible for me to remain protestant and have this blessing on our marriage too?

Thank you!

Yes, this most certainly is possible and is done on a fairly regular basis.

Catholics are permitted to marry non-Catholics under the following conditions:
  1. the Catholic party promises to remain Catholic
  2. the Catholic party promises to do his/her best to raise children Catholic
  3. the non-Catholic party is open to life and agrees that marriage is permanent and lasting until death.
