In the same way that looking at a photo of a loved one helps a person to call them to mind, perhaps. Two questions in response:I believe the reason that Catholics pray before statues while kneeling is they feel that it helps their prayer in some way.
- In what sense do you “believe” that Catholics feel that statues help our prayer?
- Have you actually just asked a Catholic if they do feel this way, or did you arrive at your conclusion without any Catholic (name removed by moderator)ut?
Have you asked any Catholics about those reasons?Of course I’m putting this very simply, I’m sure there are many reasons for the practice.
